Accessibility Statement.
Our commitment to making Elevate Athletica usable by everyone — online and in the gym.
Accessibility Statement
Elevate Athletica Pty Ltd (ACN 677 895 840) believes that fitness and community should be available to everyone. We are committed to providing an inclusive experience for our members and visitors — across our gym in Geebung, our website at elevateathletica.com.au, the Elevate Athletica mobile app and our social media channels — regardless of ability, age or assistive technology used.
This statement explains what we do to make our digital and physical spaces accessible, where we know we still fall short, and how to get in touch if something is getting in your way.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA across our website and, progressively, our mobile app. WCAG 2.2 Level AA is the standard recommended by the Australian Human Rights Commission and is the benchmark we measure our work against.
We also recognise our obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) and the Australian Government's Disability (Access to Premises — Buildings) Standards 2010, and we take the position that an accessible website and app is part of providing equal access to our services. We treat accessibility as an ongoing responsibility — not a one-off compliance task.
What we have done
Some of the steps we have taken to make our website and digital channels more accessible include:
- building the site with semantic HTML — proper headings, landmarks, lists and form labels — so assistive technology can navigate it reliably;
- providing a "Skip to main content" link at the top of every page for keyboard users;
- ensuring all interactive elements are reachable and operable with a keyboard, with visible focus indicators;
- maintaining text and interactive-element colour contrast that meets WCAG 2.2 AA on standard pages;
- providing descriptive alternative text for meaningful images, and marking decorative imagery so screen readers can skip it;
- using readable type sizes, generous line height and a layout that reflows and resizes when text is enlarged up to 200%;
- respecting the operating system "reduce motion" preference, so users who prefer minimal animation see less of it;
- writing in clear, direct language and breaking long content into short sections; and
- auditing our website with both automated tools and manual checks, including keyboard-only and screen-reader testing.
Accessibility at our facility
At the gym in Geebung we offer ground-floor access, free on-site parking, and coaching that adapts movements to suit each member's body, history and goals. If you have a specific need — including a disability, injury, neurodivergence, mobility limitation, hearing or vision difference, or any other factor that affects how you train — please tell us when you book your 7 Day Experience or first visit. We will work with you on a sensible plan and, where relevant, with your treating practitioner.
Known limitations
We are honest about the fact that we are not perfect. Areas where we know we still have work to do, or where third-party content may not yet meet our standards, include:
- embedded third-party content — including Google Maps, the PushPress booking widget and any embedded video — which we do not directly control and which may not always fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA;
- some older social media posts and member-supplied photographs that may not have descriptive alternative text;
- parts of the mobile app that are still being uplifted to match the accessibility standard of the website; and
- some interactive features (such as carousels and animated reveals) where we are continuing to refine the keyboard, focus and screen-reader experience.
We are working to address these as part of a continuous improvement program and welcome feedback that helps us prioritise.
Tell us about a barrier or request another format
If you cannot access something on our website, app or social channels — or if you would like information from us in an alternative format (for example, a large-print version, a plain-text email instead of a PDF, or content read aloud over the phone) — please contact us. We will do our best to provide what you need within a reasonable time, at no extra cost.
You can reach us at:
- Email: admin@elevateathletica.com.au
- Phone: 0497 153 856
- In person or by mail: 5/210 Robinson Rd E, Geebung QLD 4034
When you contact us, it helps if you can describe the issue, the page or feature involved, the device or assistive technology you were using, and what outcome you were hoping for. We will acknowledge your message and respond as soon as we reasonably can — usually within one business day.
Further options
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Australian Human Rights Commission, which administers the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) and can investigate complaints of disability discrimination. Information about how to make a complaint is available at humanrights.gov.au.
